Especially if said job starts at 5:00am. I have been at the radio station officially now for 2 weeks and 2 days and I had no idea how tired I would be. Add in a little frustration and boy it sucks the life right out of you. I thought this was going to be a cake walk and boy was I wrong. Being a Type A personality doesn't help either. LOL. Don't get me wrong, it is pretty cool, but I have a lot to learn.
Did I mention that my daughter has been in PA for almost a month and for most of that month she has called me almost EVERY night begging to come home? My ex-husband and in-laws don't see this as a problem, but next year things will be different. Taylor has calmed down. She got to go to the beach for a week and that helped the homesickness. She will be home FRIDAY and I can't wait.
My summer has been fun. Ward and I have been to see lots of movies, several concerts, and even a Tea Party at Shelby Farms, but I miss my little baby and I think I would have had much more fun if she was here. Next year, we are gonna spend the summer hanging out in T-County. Maybe we will take a little trip to the beach, just me and her. Whatever we do, it will be great.
By the way!!! Has anyone been listening to the show?? It will take a while for us to get our groove on, we are still working on developing some fun bits and working out the right mix of music and talk. We need your feedback. Call the station, send us emails, call in for contests (we have lots of cool stuff)Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-84152961098321048862009-06-24T12:30:00.000-07:002009-06-24T12:37:16.460-07:00Taylor Turns 12Wow! Twelve years have flown by. Next up, college. LOL!

Taylor woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning. She was excited to see what was waiting for her on her special day. We gave her real present to her two weeks ago. She went to the CMA Concerts in Nashville. Spoiled Rotten!

We had a super fab birthday party at Jezabel's on Saturday. The girls were adorable. Everyone got to make a bracelet and a matching pair of earrings.By the way, Jezabel's is a wonderful and affordable place to host a birthday party for little girls. Wayne and Lynn are great people.

This morning she opened up her Littlest Pet Shop Birthday box. She still adores littlest pet shops so my little girl is still here, for now. She leaves Saturday for PA to visit her grandparents and won't be home until the end of July. I will miss her soo much!Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-43550806196069446372009-06-24T12:29:00.000-07:002009-06-24T12:30:27.371-07:00Still Not Smoking!Today has been two and half weeks, 5 additional pound and a box of nicotine lozenges of not smoking.Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-78439789144258401792009-06-14T18:17:00.000-07:002009-06-14T18:22:12.004-07:00No SmokingWard and I have not had a cigarette in over a week. Eight days to be exact. This is no small accomplishment. I am happy to report that we are both still alive and kicking and no one has been injured due to lack of nicotine and crankiness. Say a pray folks. This is tough. I keep telling myself that we will live a much longer and much more healthy life.....

I cannot imagine that quitting crack would be any less hard than this. It is amazing the things you will do to get your hands on a cig. Thank goodness Ward and I are doing this together. We are keeping each other honest and so far neither of us has cracked. I think we are past the hard part. Maybe it will be all gravy from here. Fingers crossed!
<a id="publishButton" class="cssButton" href="javascript:void(0)" target="" onclick="if (this.className.indexOf("ubtn-disabled") == -1) {var e = document['stuffform'].publish;(e.length) ? e[0].click() : e.click(); if (window.event) window.event.cancelBubble = true; return false;}">Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-25130548933852818602009-06-14T18:12:00.000-07:002009-06-14T18:22:45.143-07:00Happy Birthday JenniferWe had a lovely lunch with Jennifer, Peter, Christy, Brian, Tammy and Slick at the Majestic in Downtown Memphis this afternoon. Today Jennifer celebrated her "29th and holding" Birthday. She has been a little under the weather so Peter thought this would be a nice way for her to spend the day, with her family and friends.
The meal was delicious, although I ate way to much. And the cake was Delicious, of course it was ice cream cake with chocolate and caramel and nuts and ooey gooey goodness.
Jen didn't allow us to sing Happy Birthday, but I think she had a nice time. Happy Birthday Jen!Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-36534710675993471332009-06-14T17:59:00.001-07:002009-06-15T11:17:18.535-07:00Super New AdventureI have a new job. I know, I've been at the Chamber for a long time, but last Friday I turned in my notice. In July, I will be moving to US 51 Country to start a new career as a morning co-host of the Gary and Paige Show (or whatever we decide to call it) and in the afternoons I will be selling ads for the station. How freaking cool is that??
This is exciting and scary all at once. Taking a job where a good part of my income is going to be based on how much I sell is a little overwhelming, but I know that the guys and gals at the station will provide me with lots of help and support. I have heard several times that I am making a bad move because of the economy but you only get one life and I think that you should take every opportunity afforded to you. God has never let me starve or go without a roof over my head so I am putting my life in his hands. And who knows, this could be the beginning of something really really cool.
I am so stinking excited about the morning show that I don't know how to act. I love music, I love the radio and I love to talk so this job is PERFECT for me. Gary is such a nice guy and he is already giving me lots of advice. We will make an excellent team.
Taylor thinks it's pretty cool too! She is in Nashville right now at the CMA concerts. Her and her Daddy drove up yesterday and they are having a blast. I am a little jealous that I'm not with her, but I am happy that she is getting to have this experience. The list of country artists she is getting to see live in concert is as long as my arm. Right now she is watching Taylor Swift perform. She is texting me every few minutes :-) This is a memory she will have forever and ever and I am glad that she is getting to share it with her Dad so close to Father's Day.Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-41615341415487950442009-06-09T10:02:00.000-07:002009-06-09T10:17:24.108-07:00Live at the Garden

Ward and I met Jennifer and Peter at the Botanical Gardens on Friday to celebrate Jennifer's Birthday. Sister Hazel and Train were both performing and Peter tried to plan a surprise for Jen. I say tried because my sweet little Ward let the cat out the bag a little early, but in his defense he was super swamped at work and just plain forgot.

Ward and I were bringing the picnic. I had a GREAT idea. My mom has this really nice, really big, and apparently really really heavy, picnic basket complete with a china setting for four and a blanket. Since it was a celebration, I thought this would be perfect. Had it not weighed nine hundred pounds it would have been great. Ward did manage to carry it into the park but he insisted that we eat and drink ALL of the food in the basket. (Note the pictures in front of the potty)LOL!

Sister Hazel was great. The songs were great, they sounded as good live as they did on the radio and they were funny! If only the show had ended after Sister Hazel! I used to really love Train. I wore my Train CD out. In fact I played it so much, I really did wear it out. I had to buy a new one. What a disappointment! We did get a good laugh. We had a Diva on stage, Cougars on the prowl behind us and two very bored men on either side of us. Good Times!

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-53933174239706047002009-06-09T09:54:00.000-07:002009-06-09T10:02:23.630-07:00Italian Festival

How funny is this picture. I had to restart my stop smoking campaign...this time Ward has decided to join me so I think it will be much more successful. I am prepared this time. I'll give it ANOTHER try. I have done this many many many times and gone as long as 4 or 5 months without one, but I always seem to start up again.
This is why I always start back.....(I have a gym membership now so maybe this will be my final try)

Here's what happens without cigarettes...I suddenly become SUPER hungry...Today I have eaten:

Small bag of Chips (for breakfast)
Small box of Cracker Jacks (for a pre-lunch snack)
2 Corn Dogs and Most of a large Tater Tot from Sonic (lunch)
4 White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies (just because)
4 Cups of Coffee with Cream
and it's only 4:15

I think I can literally feel my a&@ spreading as I type. I am going to the gym after work. It is senseless to try and diet, stop smoking and exercise all at once. I do want to live a long healthy emphysema free life, but I would really like to do it and not weigh 350 pounds. The warning on the cig box should also include: Stopping Smoking causes excessive weight gain.

Enough of my ramblings, I have to go to the gym. I think if I do 2 hours of cardio then maybe I can eat dinner without feeling guilty! LOL!Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-34309311972678844872009-05-25T19:01:00.000-07:002009-05-25T19:19:24.203-07:00Do you remember?

Do you remember waaaay back in preschool going to the zoo on a class field trip?? We all ended up in the little river. It never failed, someone "accidentally" fell in and then total mayhem! I may not remember all the details, but I remember the fun we had.

Well apparently the temptation of the little river is still as strong as ever. Taylor didn't fall in, but it was absolutely necessary to get into the river that runs through entrace of the zoo and if I had to guess it's probably almost as clean as the Mississippi, but you're only young once.LOL!

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-86312438554542043802009-05-25T18:58:00.000-07:002009-05-25T19:01:11.519-07:00

Scrapbooker in training

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-2337342000195608912009-05-25T18:35:00.000-07:002009-05-25T18:58:36.295-07:00Three Day Weekend

I love long weekends. Saturday morning we headed off to the soccer field for a 9:30 game. Taylor and I love the zoo. I think we both enjoy the Tropical Bird House the best. The birds are so stinking cute and their coloring is amazing. They are so used the people coming through that they aren't scared at all. A few years ago, a little parakeet landed on Pop-pops head. It was the funniest thing!
Ward had not been to the zoo since the big cats were caged in the Cathouse. He doesn't get out near enough!LOL!

We attempted to go to Tom Lee Park to The Sunset Symphony, but the rained kept us away. We enjoyed some Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and a movie instead. Night at the Museum, Battle of the Smithsonian was cute, but if you haven't seen the first one, rent it.

Sunday Taylor, Debbie and I went to Archiver's for a Mother/ Daughter crop. Taylor is turning into quite the little scrapbooker. I am afraid that between her scrapbooking habit and mine, I am going to need a second job :-)

Monday we decided to relax. Ahhhhh! We don't do that nearly enough, but it sure is nice. Maybe I'll try to do it more often. Not this week.. Golf Tournament Thursday and Relay for Life Friday. Speaking of Relay for Life, stop by Friday. It should be fun and all the money raised goes right back into the mid-south which directly affects Tipton County.

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-7474316950973886162009-05-19T07:14:00.000-07:002009-05-19T07:26:28.961-07:00Relay for Life! I forget to send out cards so I write down the birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions on the page of the appropriate month and slide the cards into the pockets. Each month I open my book up to that corresponding page and mail out my cards! Easy as Pie. An alternative use for the book, if you are guilty of keeping every single card you ever received, is storage. LOL! Great for babies. I kept all of Taylor's Cards and now I have them in a little pink baby Birthday Book. I will pass it along to her when she is older.

Also, there will be a sign up sheet for people interested in learning how to scrapbook. Had to pass on the Beale Street Music Fest. Kind of sad, I spent like $35.00 on a ticket but it rains every year so I guess I had a lapse in judgement. Maybe next year it won't rain. Unlikely, but maybe. Makes you wonder why people are willing to stand in the rain and be miserable. Does this mean I am finally getting older? Maybe.....

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-67426929467549833712009-05-03T11:58:00.000-07:002009-05-03T12:15:34.516-07:00The FluteTaylor had a concert at DSCC Friday and boy the 6th grade band has come a long way since their Christmas concert last year. They really have gotten pretty good. They played three songs and I am guessing that they enjoyed playing "Louie Louie" the most. They were all smiles as they started playing. They all stood up and Doc, their teacher, played the cowbell. (that instrument is more my speed) Of course one of the older kids screamed out "We need more cowbell", which is the BEST SNL skit to date. Chris Farley in a belly shirt working his cowbell with Christopher Walkin directing anyway.......
Her father and I both forgot to bring cameras but she did an excellent job. I am such a proud momma. Another thing that occurred to me as I was watching her from the audience is how beautiful she is. Of course I am little biased but my goodness, she is starting to lose her little girl cuteness and turn into a lovely young woman.Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-2508752618313964002009-05-03T11:43:00.000-07:002009-05-03T11:58:15.806-07:00The Big ShotI got an early birthday present today!! He surprised me, and the sales clerk, when he picked up the box and said "I'll take it, somebody has a birthday coming up."
He really is a great boyfriend. I can honestly say I have never met anyone like him. He is considerate, funny and right now he is reading over my shoulder as I type so I am going to stop saying nice things about him. LOL!
Since I have started making cards and scrapbooks for my little corner inside Jezabel's I have tried to learn new techniques and stockpile supplies and my new toy will make things much easier.

He let me open it as soon as we got back and it is so cool! I am addicted to scrapbooing, but he loves me anyway. I should be able to crank out lots of cool stuff pretty quickly.

On a totally different subject, it's raining. I have a ticket for the Beale Street Music fest and I really want to see James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt but I really really don't want to stand in the rain with mud up to my knee caps. Drunks, music and mud make for an interesting evening.

Can you believe that his Wardness is still reading over my shoulder?? With binoculars no less. I guess that's why we are so compatible. Neither one of us have any sense. He's a gun toting, Rush Limbaugh lovin, uber conservative, but I have decided to overlook those things. We all have our faults.... Ha! ha!

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-55977705538618573982009-04-30T18:35:00.000-07:002009-04-30T18:41:32.524-07:00AIWell the impossible has happened...Adam was in the bottom two :-) I take it back American Idol. Who was I kidding. I still love you :-)

Oh! I am going to be singing with Ronnie Twisdale and Dawn Johnston on the square this weekend at Music on the Square. I am excited. It's always fun to sing in your hometown :-)Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-58344394483561966372009-04-29T08:04:00.000-07:002009-04-29T08:44:47.869-07:00The Adam Lambert Show

The Adam Lambert Show is down to the final five. Who will go home tonight? Not Adam! Even thought there is plenty of talent, IE: The Little red hair girl with the grown up voice, Shy Chris from Conway with his sweet sexy smile, Danny Gokey with his out of time dance moves, and Matt, who is probably the weakest of the group, but still not that bad, they consistently praise Adam, not matter how badly he sings. So why are the judges drooling over Adam? Paula is ready to make him her #1 Cougar Cub for crying out loud! Yes he can hit the high note, but in every song?? Yes he has confidence, in a "I've got this in the bag" kind of way and yes he has stage presence. (put him in a cat suit and I bet he can sing the hell out of Memories) In fact, I think he will probably win a Tony Award for best new Broadway Act. However sad, the fact remains, that although Adam is a good performer, he is really not that good of a singer.

I fear it would be painful to try and enjoy an Adam Lambert song on the radio....but then again...who knows

It saddens me to say this, but I think I am finally over AI.....

Koneski Out
Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718837949426619228.post-87277319441700108422009-04-27T13:37:00.000-07:002009-04-27T13:44:43.731-07:00

What happens when you give an 11 year chopsticks???? She turns into a Walrus! We had a great week in Atlanta. We ate at PF Chang's the first night we arrived and had a piece of the Great Wall of Chocolate Cake. Delicious! We also went to the American Girl Doll Store and Bistro, the Coca-Cola Plant and the Aquarium. Had a great time. Grandmommy planned this trip last year and she made sure that we had a GREAT time!

Paige's Placehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15705248339506734401noreply@blogger.com0
